A Prophet's Reward

Okay, so my pastor encourages us to welcome a visiting leader with the verse "If you welcome a prophet in the name of the prophet you'll receive the prophet's reward" and suddenly I understand this verse in a way I never have before!

I used to think that it meant that you would get the same reward that the prophet is getting, whatever that may be. But now Holy Ghost showed me it actually means that when you receive the prophet because you acknowledge that God is in them and working through them that's when you get the reward of what the prophet is speaking and declaring from God over your life! So if the prophet is declaring healing for your body and you receive him as a prophet, your reward is healing in your body, etc., etc.

It seems so simple I felt really dumb that I hadn't figured that out earlier! When I shared it with some friends later, someone told me that they had just gotten that in church that day, too, so I didn't feel like too much of a ninny! {giggle}
